Signing in Sacramento County
Real property documents are recorded by the Sacramento County Clerk/Recorder in Sacramento. The notary notarizes; recording is a separate trip or a title-company task.
Vehicle and title paperwork comes up often. Not every DMV form needs a notary, so read the form's own instructions before you book one.
Hospital signings come up at UC Davis Medical Center and Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento. Bring the signer's ID to the room ahead of time if you can.

Weekday evenings and Saturdays book first. Folsom and Elk Grove are both inside the county but a real drive apart.
What to bring
- A current, government-issued photo ID for every person signing (driver's license, state ID or passport). No ID is the most common reason a signing gets cancelled.
- The complete, unsigned document. Don't sign ahead of time; you sign in front of the notary.
- Any blanks filled in except the signature. A notary can't notarize a document with empty fields.
What it costs
California caps the notary's fee for an acknowledgment at $15 per signature, and $15 for an oath or affirmation with a jurat (California Government Code §8211, text, checked 2026-09-29). Section 8211 doesn't set travel fees, so a mobile notary's travel charge is separate. Agree on it before the appointment.
